Jessica Dunn is a British artist based in Portugal.
Born in London into a family rooted in theatre and television, she is the daughter of actress Priscilla Morgan and comedy actor Clive Dunn. While her parents’ careers were in performance, Jessica followed her own creative path into the visual arts.
She completed her Art Foundation at Kingston University in London before relocating to the Algarve with her family. There, she established her studio in the hills of Boliqueime, where she paints full time, predominantly working in oils.
Her work is deeply inspired by the natural beauty of her surroundings—the Algarve landscape and its luminous southern light. Each painting reflects both a profound connection to place and an intuitive, personal creative process.
Jessica exhibits regularly in the UK, including at The Other Art Fair in London, and is represented by The Sanctuary Gallery in Gloucestershire. She is also a member of ArtCan. In Portugal, she exhibits with Tavira d’Artes gallery and is part of the Quinta Art Collective. Her works are included in the museum collections of Guarda and Loulé.

"My latest work has transitioned from the figurative, to an abstract impression of land, sea and sky, influenced by the elements, intense sunlight and the drama of the landscape, which is constantly shifting and changing.
I try to capture an impression of its transient nature, working across the canvas from dark to light, layer-by-layer, brushing on, scraping off, as a colour-mood begins to develop and a story begins to emerge.
Tonal layering creates an impression of distance and depth and a focal point appears organically, drawing the viewer in.
Working on several pieces at a time, moving from one to the other with fluidity and energy, a rhythm develops…
For me it´s about the paint and the expressive marks created, which gradually evolve into something familiar, an imagined or remembered landscape, a sea, a sky, or just a feeling.
The visual experience becomes an emotive one, an illusion of being immersed in nature, reflective and timeless, of walking into a painting and feeling lifted."
